Buyer/ Planner Manufacturing
Stable, growing company in Draper UT is seeking a Buyer/Planner with manufacturing industry experience. Great work environment, wide variety of experience and projects with engineering and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a smaller office environment and is accustomed to helping out in other departments as well. Experienced in reading engineering drawings, bill of materials etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2-3 years related manufacturing industry experience.
2. Working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures.

4. Lean manufacturing experience 1-2 yrs.
5. Strong negotiation skills.
6. Proficient in MS Office and Outlook.
7. Excellent interpersonal relations and written/oral communication skills.
8. Self-motivated, persistent, hands-on result oriented.
9. Must be detail oriented.
10. Well organized with the ability to multi-task, specifically as it relates to purchasing for multiple projects at the same time.
11. Strong sense of urgency with the ability to take initiative and accomplish goals.
12. High degree of professionalism and maturity with good judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Raw material procurement for engineering and prototype kits.
2. Determine material requirements orders, production schedules and bills of material.
3. Obtain vendor quotes and negotiate for the best possible price.
4. Expedite orders and requests as needed and communicate the status to all relevant departments.
5. Consistently update records related to items purchased, costs, delivery, quality, and inventory.
6. Resolve non-conforming items with users and vendors to determine the root cause and take corrective action.
7. Create and manage work orders.
8. Manage raw material and finished goods inventory in order to meet on-time delivery and inventory goals.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the development of procedures and tools for product cost tracking and reporting.
2. Keeps abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in assigned markets, new materials entering market, etc.
3. May work with manufacturers or persuade potential vendors to undertake the manufacturing of custom-designed items according to user's specifications.
4. Assist QA in supplier audits and assessments related to quality, capabilities, and capacity.
5. Perform other job related duties as needed.
